Invest Medicine Hat (City of Medicine Hat) is the largest land developer in the city and maintains the largest inventory of developable greenfield and infill lots within city limits. Considering the City of Medicine Hat’s land development portfolio can vary drastically from single family residential lots to large industrial lots, Spider Electric Ltd. has been challenged on several of our recent greenfield and infill projects, notably the recent Airport Gateway Commercial Land Development, the downtown Towne Square public event space as well as a recent infill infrastructure improvement development near the City of Medicine Hat’s aging arena at Athletic Park. Typical scope of work included working directly with Project Engineers to help with the design and installation of utility corridors within road allowances, street light servicing as well as site-specific servicing that can be utilized by all build forms of future development.

In addition to the projects listed above, Spider Electric Ltd. is well known across southern Alberta to be a leading commercial electrical contractor and are known to work on the vast majority of new commercial developments (both private and municipal) within the City of Medicine Hat.

Although proficient at providing typical land development design and construction/installation, Spider Electric Ltd. have also proven to be adept at pivoting outside of their typical electrical scope on short notice. This was proven when the City of Medicine Hat requested a construction amendment to install promenade lighting under a 70m x 10m x 5m steel framed shade canopy that was recently installed at the downtown Towne Square project. It was Spider Electric’s knowledge, problem solving skills and willingness to work within a team environment that allowed the City of Medicine Hat to complete the project on-time and on-budget.
